On June 7, 1974 God saw fit to bring into this world an anointed vessel for his Kingdom, Semaj Henre' McKnight. Born to James and Mabel McKnight, Semaj was destined to be a mouthpiecefor God's Kingdom. He began learning about the knowledge of God at Welcome Chapel Baptist Church in Henderson, NC. Later on, God led them to become longtime faithful members of Crusade Pentecostal Deliverance Church, under the leadership of Pastor Louise Branch and Co-Pastor Shirley Johnson.

Bishop received his education in Vance County Schools graduating from Southern Vance High School in 1992. He also continued his education at Vance Granville Community College.Bishop McKnight soon became an active member of the ministry, becoming President of the Young Adult Choir, President of The Sounds of Pentecost Teen Group, member of the Praise Team and choir director for the youth.

In March of 1995 Bishop McKnight married his longtime sweetheart Danetta Carr and to this blessed union God graced them to be the parents of Semaja’ Unique and Henre’ Semaj. January 1998, he moved his membership and joined Victory Temple of Deliverance Church in Boydton, VA. In July of 1998 he became an ordained Minister of the Gospel. He later became the Assistant Pastor of Victory Temple of Deliverance Church. After serving several years of working alongside Apostle Shirley Johnson, Assistant Past. McKnight was appointed as Pastor of Victory Temple of Deliverance. Pastor McKnight once again proved himself worthy in the eyesight of God and in March 2001, he was consecrated as a Bishop in the Lord’s church. Bishop Semaj McKnight, being led by God, spread the ministry and soon established a greater work in Henderson, NC, and Jireh Deliverance Ministries was birthed.

In the year 2012, God moved in the heart of Bishop McKnight to further expand Kingdom Ministry through Covenant Fellowship. After seeking and hearing from God, Bishop McKnight co-established Kingdom Builders International Fellowship of Churches. In January of 2013, he was appointed Presiding Bishop of Kingdom Builders International Fellowship of Churches. Continuously pressing forward and not looking back, in October 2017 Bishop McKnight was reaffirmed as Bishop by the laying on of hands from one, Bishop Marc L. House. In October of 2022, Bishop McKnight was justly appointed as 1st Assistant Presiding Bishop of Victory United Fellowship of Churches.

Bishop McKnight has since received the gift of deeper knowledge in God and has earned a Bachelor’s Degree of Theology in Biblical studies granted through Kingdom Builders School of Theology and is currently pursuing his Master’s degree. God continues to direct, lead, and guide him to his destiny. Bishop McKnight lives daily by Psalm 37:3 “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.”

Bishop McKnight’s vision for the church is centered around ministry, family and community and

bridging the gap between community and church through outreach, servitude and love.
